Process Support Assistant

We are hiring Process Support Assistants!!! If you have a background in Chemical or Metallurgical Engineering Technology or relevant industrial lab experience, along with strong attention to detail and safety, this role offers a great opportunity to support plant processes, sample collection, and date reporting within a dynamic mining environment. Candidates must be local to Timmins.

ABOUT THE JOB:

• Collect samples for the mill laboratory.
• Prepare samples as directed by Engineering personnel.
• Note any unusual trends in sample preparation or readings, and report these to management.
• Identify any improvements which can reduce costs or enhance company revenue.
• Maintain a clean work environment by performing cleanup duties for the work area and equipment.
• Provide support for plant processes as needed and assist operators as directed.
• Work in compliance with prescribed company policies and procedures.
• Be proactive with company safety initiatives.
• Additional tasks as assigned by the Lab Supervisor and/or Engineering personnel.

Candidates must be local to Timmins.

Start/End Hours – Rotation Schedule: Begins with a 7-7 rotation and transition to 5-5-4 rotation, switching between days and nights.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION/ EXPERIENCE:

• Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation to the worksite are required.
• High school diploma: post-secondary education in Chemical Engineering Technology or Metallurgical Engineering Technology or equivalent relevant work experience is an asset.
• Lab experience in an industrial environment is highly regarded.
• Basic Mill Process Operator Common Core is an asset.
• Capable of performing physical tasks.
• Sound understanding of sampling procedures, quality control standards, and safety protocols.
• Good communication skills and ability to follow procedures.
• Comfortable using basic computer systems for data entry and reporting.
