Description

We are seeking a skilled HS&E Auditor to join our Corporate Health, Safety & Environment (HS&E) team. Reporting to the Director, Corporate HS&E, this role is a key contributor to the strategic planning and continual improvement of our enterprise HS&E audit program. You will lead the implementation of a standardized, enterprise-wide audit program focused on driving consistency, reliability, and effectiveness across all business units.

The successful candidate will work closely with site-based HS&E professionals, operational leaders, and executive stakeholders to provide expertise on audit execution, findings, and risk mitigation strategies.

Responsibilities:

  • Enhance, implement, and maintain an enterprise-wide HS&E audit program
  • Build and manage annual audit schedules in alignment with organizational priorities and risk
  • Conduct audits using standardized tools and methodologies to assess HS&E program effectiveness
  • Prepare clear, concise audit reports with findings, recommendations, and risk assessments
  • Monitor and follow up on corrective actions to ensure timely and effective resolution
  • Analyze audit data and trends to identify systemic issues and opportunities for improvement
  • Provide expert advice to stakeholders on audit results, compliance, and risk mitigation strategies
  • Support and lead incident investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective action planning
  • Collaborate with site HS&E professionals and operational leaders to ensure consistent execution across business units
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of audit tools, frameworks, and enterprise HS&E strategy

Requirements:

  • College Degree or Diploma in Health, Safety & Environmental
  • 6 years of progressive HS&E experience in the construction industry
  • Proven experience in HS&E auditing, preferably in a large or multi-site organization
  • Preference to candidates who hold a professional certification in Health, Safety & Environment (such as CRSP or CHSMSA), as well as COR and/or ISO auditor certification
  • Strong understanding of HS&E legislation, regulatory requirements, and best practices
  • Exceptional analytical, reporting, and communication skills
  • Ability to influence, lead changes, and build strong cross-functional relationships
  • Experience leading audits, investigations, and driving systemic improvements
  • Proven leadership in developing and enhancing HS&E processes and mentoring team members
  • Ability to work independently and be part of a cross-functional team environment
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Visio, and PowerPoint)

Work Conditions

  • This role requires 50–70% travel across North America
  • Candidate must be able to pass a drug and alcohol (D&A) test
  • A valid driver’s license and clean driving abstract are required
