The shift pattern for this post is Days 09.00-17.00, 4 days per week 09.00-16.30, 1 day per week, On call 24/7 1 week in 5.
Department: The West of Scotland Regional Maxillofacial and Plastic Surgery Technical Service, OMFS Laboratory. An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Maxillofacial Prosthetist/Reconstructive Scientist, to join our busy team. The post requires an individual who has a level of skill and understanding of Maxillofacial Prosthetics, Reconstructive Science and specialist custom medical device manufacture.
Essential
This will include subspecialties of facial prosthetics, 3D printing, craniofacial and oncology reconstruction planning, deep buried implants, trauma and cleft lip and palate. Orthognathic (corrective jaw surgery to improve function, mastication and aesthetics) surgery planning and diagnostic treatment planning, including innovative developmental work and design. Excellent communication skills and can successfully manage a changing workload are an essential part of the post. Knowledge, training and experience:

- MSc Reconstructive Science or Maxillofacial Rehabilitation (KCL) or STP/Historical Equivalent Statutory registration (GDC and/or HCPC).
- Voluntary registration with Professional Body IMPT (Member) at the qualified/appropriate level.
- Up to date CPD portfolio/reflective log.
- If historical qualification; completion of STP Equivalence with the Academy of Healthcare Science( to be attained) Experience of practise within maxillofacial prosthetics clinics and laboratory services.
- First degree/BSc Technical Dentistry or the Dental Technology equivalent.
- Experience across whole discipline.
- Knowledge of data analysis (CT), 3D design, planning and additive manufacture.
- Knowledge of Quality management systems and implementation for compliance with legislation for the construction of custom made patient specific medical devices.
