Are you an Alberta Certified Teacher who is passionate about helping preschool-aged children with additional needs transition into kindergarten? Do you naturally lead in the classroom and value a learning environment that emphasizes holistic, play-based activities to address the diverse needs of children? e4c is seeking a teacher to permanently join our Early Learning Program. In this role, you will be part of an interdisciplinary team that utilizes the principles of the Flight Framework to support children aged 2.5 to 5 with additional needs, along with their families. Your responsibilities will include participating in case management planning, developing individualized learning plans, and implementing programming tailored to meet the unique goals of each child and their family.
What You Bring To The Team
Prior to successful employment with e4c, applicants are required to submit a Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Check and Intervention Record Check (IRC).
What You Bring To The Team
- You bring 1+ years of experience working with pre-school age children between the ages of 2.8 to 5 years old. If you are a brand-new grad and want to be mentored by a team of professionals, we also want to hear from you!
- You possess an Alberta Teaching Certification (Interim or Permanent Teaching License).
- You have a Bachelor of Education Degree (or temporary teaching authority).
- You are passionate and deeply committed to helping each child reach their potential.
- You understand the value of creating holistic, responsive play-based learning experiences.
- You are engaging and able to connect with children and their families.
- Plan and implement play-based programming to ensure developmentally appropriate curriculum and individual learning plans that reflect the needs and diversity of the children and families.
- Provide leadership and direction to the classroom team to deliver programming to children and ensure that program guidelines and classroom plans meet the needs of the children.
- Work collaboratively with communities of practice groups, community partnerships, and external resources such as CASA and Alberta Health Services to ensure wrap-around support for children and their families.
- Be part of creating a responsive, open, and flexible classroom that ensures a safe environment for all.
- Provide intentional communication, assessments & documentation to ensure program plans and standards are maintained.
- Be a mentor & coach to early childhood students, parent volunteers, classroom staff, and others.
