The Autobody Technician is responsible for restoring damaged vehicles to their original condition using a variety of repair techniques and tools. This role involves repairing structural and non-structural damage, replacing or repairing panels, and ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards. The technician must work efficiently, accurately, and collaboratively within the collision repair team.

The Autobody Technician is responsible for restoring damaged vehicles to their original condition using a variety of repair techniques and tools. This role involves repairing structural and non-structural damage, replacing or repairing panels, and ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards. The technician must work efficiently, accurately, and collaboratively within the collision repair team.
Responsibilities
- Assess vehicle damage and determine appropriate repair methods.
- Remove, repair, or replace damaged body parts, including panels, fenders, bumpers and frames.
- Use frame straightening and welding equipment as needed.
- Grind, sand, fill, and smooth repaired surfaces to ensure proper contour and fit.
- Reassemble vehicles after repair and ensure proper fit and function of parts.
- Work closely with estimators and painters to ensure workflow efficiency.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Follow manufacturer and industry repair standards and safety guidelines.
- Document all work performed and communicate with team members as needed.
- Journeyman/Red Seal Certification.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in autobody repair.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools, welding equipment, and repair systems.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
- Ability to read repair estimates and follow OEM repair procedures.
- Valid driver’s license (Alberta Class 5) with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift heavy parts and stand for extended periods.
- This role involves working in a repair shop environment with exposure to noise, dust, paint, and chemicals.
- Proper use of PPE is required.
