Saturn has an opportunity for a full time Joint Venture Accountant based in the Calgary, Alberta office. Reporting to the Supervisor, Joint Venture Accounting, some specific duties, and responsibilities of the Joint Venture Accountant include, but are not limited to:

  • Review and analyze joint venture billings for both operated and non-operated properties, analyzing Joint Venture agreements to ensure accuracy of billings.
  • Dispute resolution for both operated and non-operated properties on a timely basis to maintain strong partner relationships.
  • Responsible for monitoring AP/AR as it pertains to joint venture balances, ensuring timely clearing of invoice balances.
  • Perform payout calculations for operated wells and actively request payout statements for non-operated wells when applicable.
  • Other duties as required.

Candidates for this position will possess the following qualifications and competencies:

  • Minimum of 5 years related experience.
  • Previous experience with AFE Navigator, QByte (FM, Optix, CS) and Petrinex is essential.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel and familiarity with geoSCOUT and CS Explorer.
  • Must be organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Efficient, dependable and have a strong ability to multi-task and manage several priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to clearly communicate at all levels and provide resolution when necessary.
