Our client is seeking a Principal-Level Architect with over 20 years of experience, including a minimum of 10 years leading complex post-secondary, K–12, healthcare, institutional, and community projects. The ideal candidate has led projects from vision to delivery ranging from $25M to $150M.
This role is ideal for someone who brings not just design and project leadership, but strategic foresight, a passion for mentorship, and a track record of building strong, long-term client relationships. You’ll also play a vital role in business development and operational growth alongside the firm’s senior leadership.

You’ll also play a vital role in business development and operational growth alongside the firm’s senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership across a portfolio of large-scale public and institutional projects
- Guide client relationships and actively pursue new project opportunities across BC and beyond
- Lead multi-phase projects through visioning, design, technical development, and construction
- Mentor and coach internal staff to build leadership capacity and high-performing teams
- Advise on delivery models (P3, IPD, CM, DB, etc.) and drive project performance
- Collaborate with partners and senior leaders on firm operations, growth, and internal systems
- Lead stakeholder engagement, change management strategies, and operational evaluations
- Contribute to a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous learning
- 20+ years of architectural experience, with 10+ years in institutional and healthcare work
- Registered Architect (AIBC) required
- Demonstrated success in business development and client relationship management
- Experience leading capital projects valued between $25M–$150M+
- Familiarity with construction methodologies: CM, P3, Design-Build, IPD, Stip Sum
- Strong strategic thinking, leadership, and business operations acumen
- Skilled in mentorship, coaching, and team capacity building
- Legally eligible to work in Canada
