Phoenix

Date: 15 hours ago
City: Toronto, ON
Contract type: Full time

What we're looking for:

Phoenix is scaling fast, and we’re just getting started! Coming off the back of our Series A, we’re doubling down on momentum: accelerating product growth, expanding our footprint, and sharpening our operations. We’re looking for a Chief of Staff to partner directly with our co-CEOs and cross-functional leadership team.

This is a high-impact, high-visibility role at the nerve center of the company. The Chief of Staff will help drive strategic planning, connect dots across departments, and keep the trains running on time; all while identifying opportunities to go further, faster. The ideal candidate will have proven success in a business management role, with a special focus on executive-level advising and interdepartmental collaboration. If you’re energized by complexity, thrive on ownership, and have a track record of turning chaos into clarity, this may be the role for you!

What you’ll do:

  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional leadership to organize and analyze large amounts of data across the Phoenix platform to inform leadership decision-making, including new business bets or yet-to-be-formed team structures

  • Work in tandem with senior leadership to dive deep into product, operations, and business data to surface key trends, guide decision-making, and influence long-term strategy for our growing treatment portfolio

  • Serve as liaison with staff, executives, senior leaders, and our co-CEOs regarding company climate, employee well-being, project updates, proposals, and general planning

  • Perform administrative tasks such as managing calendars, generating correspondence, planning and coordinating meetings, and scheduling facilities

  • Build clarity out of complexity by building strategic documents (memos, decks, org charts, models, roadmaps, etc.) that provide continuity and clarity to the senior leadership team, board, and the wider cross-functional Phoenix team

  • Maintain active decision logs for the co-CEOs and Phoenix senior leadership, ensuring action items are tracked, communicated, and adhered to

  • Streamline internal operations by identifying bottlenecks before they slow us down, as well as building and implementing systems that will keep us efficient and focused

  • Serve as a subject-matter expert, handling inquiries, developing action plans, and assisting with preparation and dissemination of communications

What you’ll bring:

  • 5+ years experience in a chief of staff or similar cross-functional role focused on analytics, strategy, operations, or high-growth environments

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in business administration, data analytics, or similar fields

  • Experience working in fast-paced, high-growth environments and knowing how to build processes without slowing things down

  • An analytical and execution-oriented mindset with the ability to take an ambiguous problem and drive towards clarity and action

  • A proactive approach with an instinct to fix something that seems broken, inefficient, or unclear

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

  • Nice to have:

    • Experience with startups/scale-ups, VC, and/or large-scale project management

    • Consulting experience, with a focus on operations management

    • Proven success in a project coordination role

    • Nimble business mind, focused on developing creative solutions

    • Strong project-reporting skills, with focus on interdepartmental communications

Why work at Phoenix?

  • Impact & autonomy. You’ll work directly with passionate, experienced leaders who understand the ups-and-downs of the business and you'll have a real opportunity to shape the future at Phoenix

  • Rewarding Mission. We're delivering the best healthcare experience to Canadians across the country

  • Collaborative Culture. We are a growing elite team in Downtown Toronto. We love the tight feedback loop of working together in the office. If you've missed that in-person office experience, and love sharing strongly held opinions of the best lunch spot nearby, this is the role for you
