Job Summary:
We are expanding our capacity and programs, and are seeking a dedicated and capable Project Coordinator to manage internal initiatives, oversee our in-house application, plan and manage all events and fundraisers, and lead the development and submission of grant applications and funding proposals to support the growth and sustainability of our services.
The Project Coordinator will support the planning, execution, and evaluation of programs and projects across TCC. This includes managing community events and fundraisers, coordinating internal systems and technology (including our in-house application), and supporting funding efforts through grant applications and proposals.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with staff to improve user experience and add new features to the in-house app based on evolving needs of the Centre.
- Coordinate and manage a variety of projects related to programming, operations, and outreach.
- Track progress, manage timelines, and ensure accountability for deliverables.
- Liaise with staff, volunteers, and external partners to ensure successful execution.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute all TCC events, programs, and fundraising initiatives.
- Manage logistics such as booking, promotion, volunteer coordination, registration, and follow-up.
- Ensure all events align with the Centre’s mission and community goals.
- Maintain organized records for projects, events, grants, and partner communications.
- Support day-to-day office administration related to ongoing programs.
- Assist with budgeting, vendor coordination, and procurement as needed.
- Manage the daily use, updates, and maintenance of TCC’s in-house application.
- Provide basic training and support to users (staff, volunteers, community members).
- Coordinate with developers to troubleshoot issues and improve features.
- Ensure the app supports operations such as attendance, registrations, notifications, etc.
- Research and apply for local, provincial, federal, and foundation grants.
- Prepare proposals, budgets, supporting documents, and reporting materials.
- Maintain calendars and compliance for grant deadlines and reporting cycles.
- Prepare regular updates and reports for leadership, including performance metrics.
- Contribute content for social media, newsletters, and TCC's website related to programs and events.
- Support external communications with donors, vendors, and community stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business Administration, IT, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role preferably in the non-profit or community sector.
- Experience planning and executing events and fundraisers.
- Hands-on experience with managing apps or IT systems is required.
- Strong grant writing or funding proposal experience is a strong asset.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to balance multiple projects and priorities independently.
- Familiarity with Islamic community values and environments.
- Valid Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening
