You as a Workday Business Partner, People & Culture will:
- Act as primary representative for People & Culture related requirements and functionality in Workday
- Partner with other Business Owners (Payroll & Finance) to ensure a system that supports all areas of the business and allows for scalability as the business grows
- Partner with People & Culture to address configuration requirements, data challenges, and change management
- Escalation point for requirements, issues and decisions including new or missing requirements as they arise throughout the project
- Provide regular updates to Project Sponsors and Steer Co based on the project health
- Partner with PMO and Business Owner's to monitor and guide the overall direction of the project and escalate to Project Sponsors
- Provide advisory support to the HRIS (Workday) team with respect to ensuring a cohesive system is configured including business processes, addressing configuration challenges, and technical roadblocks
- In partnership with the Business Owners develop resource allocation plans for current and future phases of the project
- Facilitation of cross-functional business escalations to ensure the best solution for EllisDon
- Attend and contribute to project meetings including workstream working/design sessions and weekly meetings, PMO calls, project status meetings, integration calls to resolve issues and address escalated issues
- Attend and contribute to Bi-Weekly All Hands, Bi-Weekly Escalation Reviews, & Monthly Steering
- Regular meetings with Workday Manager for status updates, discuss challenges and make decisions on outstanding items
- Regular working sessions with Business Owners and PMO as required for project planning, issue resolution, and any other areas that need attention
- You have a strong understanding of People & Culture (HR) processes and how they translate into Workday functionality.
- You bring prior experience partnering with HR, Payroll, and Finance teams to deliver scalable and sustainable Workday solutions.
- You’re comfortable working as a trusted advisor, providing guidance on Workday configuration, business processes, and change management impacts.
- You excel at collaborating cross-functionally, bringing together stakeholders and helping resolve competing requirements to arrive at the best solution for the business.
- You can confidently manage escalations, address complex challenges, and facilitate discussions that move initiatives forward.
- You enjoy working in a project environment and are comfortable attending regular meetings, providing status updates, and engaging with multiple stakeholders at various levels.
- Prior Workday implementation or optimization experience is a strong asset — especially if you’ve worked closely with HRIS teams.
- Experience working in a unionized workforce context would be an advantage.
