Job Description

Irving Shipbuilding is seeking 2 Tool Crib Attendants (Night Shift) in Halifax, NS.

Competition Close Date: Monday, July 14th (8am).

This is an internal opportunity and will be open to external applicants after 8am on Monday, July 14th.

Responsibilities

  • Perform tasks in compliance with Tool Issue and Control Policy
  • Control and allocate inventory and storage of tools & consumables using a computerized system
  • Receive, issue, return, status tools and consumables with handheld computerized scanner
  • Perform searches in computerized system to locate tools and consumables
  • Maintain orderly and debris-free tool crib
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvements and department KPI’s
  • Ensure tooling operates properly and has all safety guards
  • Provide prompt excellent customer service
  • Ensure certification and calibration updates for all tools and equipment within tool crib
  • Perform regular cycle counting to ensure inventory accuracy
  • Maintain shelf allocation of consumables

Qualifications

  • Demonstrate Proficient knowledge of Computer systems and experience operating handheld computerized mobile devices
  • Ability to enter data and maintain a computerized inventory system
  • Knowledge of tools and equipment (hand, electric, pneumatic, hydraulic)
  • A mechanical aptitude to assemble, trouble shoot and identify issues for repair on Shipyard tools and equipment
  • Meet function job requirements for Tool Crib Attendant classification
  • Self-starter with the ability to complete tasks effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Work well independently and with others in a team environment
  • Ability to work shift work as required
  • Reliably follow policies and procedures
