The Director of IT Business Engagement will be responsible for leading the Business Engagement team, which includes Project Management, IT Service Management, and Business Analysis. You will be accountable for designing and advising on IT Policy, procedures, standards and controls, emerging requirements (e.g. new business objectives/strategies, regulatory requirements, new technology) to critical department processes and services following the ITIL and PMI frameworks. The role works closely with internal and external (client/vendor) Executives, Leaders and Service Providers to establish an industry leading process practice. Success in this role will bring business value and strategic positioning providing a competitive advantage by leading the creation, innovation and delivery of scalable services through well understood processes. Design, Build, Implementations and continuous improvement on our new ITSM tool is a major focus of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, coach, develop and motivate a team to create a work environment that retains personnel who deliver innovative, value add IT services across the business.
  • Provide leadership, direction and guidance to the business analyst team, ensuring quality of functionality, products and services matches business expectations.
  • Support the standardization of the IT environment as much as possible, moving toward a centralized IT operating model.
  • Identify opportunities for the appropriate and cost-effective investment of financial resources in IT infrastructure and security.
  • Lead IT strategic and operational planning to achieve business goals by fostering innovation, prioritizing IT initiatives, and coordinating the evaluation and deployment of secure technology across IMT.
  • Act as an advocate for IT strategy and initiatives via regular communications with the organization’s executives, department heads, and end users.
  • Accountable for delivering accurate business cases and statements of work in a timely manner and helping the business realize return on Investment (ROI).
  • Collaborates with IT leadership and internal stakeholders to influence project prioritization and resource planning aligned with Business priorities.
  • Translate business vision to enable shared understanding and rapid execution by business and IT personnel.
  • Works with various levels of IT and Business leadership to raise awareness and advise on advancements in technology.
  • Perform precursory evaluation of business processes, analyze client requirements, and determine how IT solutions can best meet client’s strategy & goals.
  • Document functional design, including integration points, workflows, data flows and security requirements.
  • Collaborate with Business Leaders to identify & implement desired functionality and enhancements to maximize technology investment and drive continuous improvement.
  • Provide leadership, direction and guidance to vendor partners and/or development team, ensuring quality of functionality, products and services matches business expectations.
  • Create a project environment that enables peak performance by all team members, and successfully deliver all assigned projects, within a matrix structure
  • Project Management subject matter expert for processes and best practices, and participates in driving the continuous development of IMT’s program/project planning, scheduling, resource management practices
  • Maintain a high level of quality in project management processes and deliver all required project artifacts
  • Development of KPI’s and key management reports for processes within scope.
  • Lead, develop, and implement along with all vested stakeholders to ensure that programs developed meet both short and long term objectives. This may be performed on an individual or group basis.
  • Establishes and builds healthy working relations and partnerships with service providers, customers and peers.
  • Key stakeholders in the ongoing development of the toolset supporting the processes providing requirements and future strategy.
  • Lead, develop, and implement all process Critical Success Factors (CSF), Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and activity metrics.
  • Lead, develop, and implement the standardization of the IT environment as much as possible, moving toward a centralized IT operating model

  • Lead, develop, and implement Incident, Problem, Request, Risk, Policy, Knowledge, and Change Management
  • Lead, develop, and implement IT Metrics Reporting on Key Performance Indicators and Critical Success Factors
  • Lead, develop, and implement Standard Operating Procedure Management
  • Evangelize the need for process using a “what’s in it for the users” approach.
  • Lead a small team to deliver large results

Requirements

  • Strong critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in leading teams, both remote and onsite
  • Experience in ITSM roles such as Major Incident Manager, Knowledge Manager, Process Manager
  • Experience leading at a strategic and tactical level
  • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure and security components
  • Strategic, tactical, and operational knowledge of Project Management and the PMI framework
  • Strategic, tactical, and operational knowledge of IT Service Management and the ITIL framework
  • Experience implementing and maintaining processes for Government security frameworks including CMMC 2.0 Level 2 and CGP
  • Ability to interact successfully with technical peers & non-technical users.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Architect, design, implement, deliver and support ITSM, PMO, and BA roadmaps/strategies and ITSM, PMO, and BA program growth.
  • Strong budgeting, planning and leadership skills
  • Strong ability to communicate with and understand both Business and IT leaders to build and manage relationships
  • The drive to deliver results
  • Ability to respond quickly and effectively to the changing business environment, requirements or shifts in technology and/or skills
