About Our Team

The Labour Management team is responsible for maintaining and evolving the labour program that supports our stores across the country. We work in close partnership with the Operations team to stay in tune with what’s happening on the ground, ensuring our labour models reflect real-time operational needs and business priorities.

As store processes evolve and new programs are introduced, we adapt and refine our labour strategies to ensure optimal labour allocation across all departments. Our goal is to deploy labour spend effectively while supporting excellent customer service and efficient store operations.

About The Role

As the Senior Analyst, Industrial Engineering, you will play a key role in supporting the development and execution of our Enterprise Labour Strategy by providing analytical support, building and maintaining labour standards, and assisting with process improvement initiatives.

In this role, you’ll gain deep knowledge of store operations while applying industrial engineering principles to ensure that our labour models reflect operational reality and support efficient, customer-focused store performance. You’ll work closely with peers, managers, and cross-functional partners to help deliver high-quality labour models and actionable insights.

What You’ll Do

  • Conduct time studies and in-store observations to gather data and support the creation of accurate labour standards.
  • Assist in the development, validation, and maintenance of engineered labour standards for specific store departments using the MOST methodology.
  • Build and maintain labour models and scheduling tools within the Workforce Management System, ensuring updates are made as processes evolve.
  • Complete labour impact assessments for new programs, initiatives, or process changes
  • Analyze operational and labour data using Microsoft Excel and other tools to support decision-making and identify areas for improvement.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and documentation to communicate findings to internal teams.
  • Collaborate with team members and cross-functional partners to support project execution.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to enhancing team processes and tools.

What You’ve Done

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • 0–2 years of experience applying engineering, analytical, or process improvement skills in a work or academic setting (retail or operations experience is an asset).
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel; familiarity with PowerPoint, Word, and Teams.
  • Exposure to data analysis techniques; experience with SQL, Power BI, or similar tools is considered an asset but not required.
  • Interest in workforce management, productivity analysis, and process improvement.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • MOST certification considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of grocery store operations considered an asset.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to store locations for observations and data collection.
