Job Description

The Fire Alarm Technician - Level 1 is a motivated, organized, and personable individual willing to assist Fire Alarm Technicians. This role is the first step toward becoming a certified Fire Alarm Technician, offering opportunities for advancement through training and hands-on experience. The Fire Alarm Technician - Level 1 is a team player and a vital member of Classic Fire + Life Safety’s team.

The Fire Alarm Technician - Level 1 is a full-time hourly position. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following tasks:

Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Assist Fire Alarm Technicians with weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual inspections as required.
• Help with service work and repairs on fire alarm systems under the supervision of Fire Alarm Technicians.
• Assist with shop duties as required.
• Enroll in and complete CFAA training courses and exams toward registration as a Fire Alarm Technician.
• Inspect, test, maintain, and repair emergency lighting, extinguishers, and fire hoses.
• Deliver and pick up extinguishers, hoses, and other equipment or materials as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
  
  

Qualifications:

• Excellent troubleshooting skills and a high level of electronic aptitude.
• Motivated to serve and participate in a team environment.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Customer-focused with strong communication abilities.
• Experience in the fire alarm industry is an asset but not required.
• Valid driver’s license and clean drivers abstract
  
  

Physical Demands:

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs.
• Comfortable working at heights, on lifts, and ladders as required for inspections and installations.
• Ability to work in various environments (e.g., indoors, outdoors, mechanical rooms).
  
  

Path to Advancement:

Progression to Fire Alarm Trainee (Level 2) is expected upon the completion of CFAA prerequisite courses and demonstrated competency.
