We are hiring Sample Receiving Technicians!!! ABOUT THE JOB:

  • Assist incoming trucks in locating truck scale.
  • Weigh incoming ore deliveries.
  • Efficiently organize trucks for unloading in the designated dumping area.
  • Collect representative samples from deliveries.
  • Accurately enter truck and shipment information into computer database.
  • Ensure sample integrity is maintained according to established procedures.
  • Assist laboratory personnel with drying samples to determine moisture content and/or preparation and analysis of samples as needed.
  • Proficiently operate a two-way radio when required.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Work in compliance with prescribed company policies and procedures.
  • Be proactive with company safety initiatives.
  • Additional tasks as assigned by the Lab Supervisor and/or Engineering personnel.

Candidates must be local to Timmins.

Start/End Hours – Rotation Schedule: Begins with a 7-7 rotation and transition to 5-5-4 rotation, switching between days and nights.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION/ EXPERIENCE:

  • Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation to the worksite are required.
  • High school diploma: post-secondary education in Chemical Engineering Technology or Metallurgical Engineering Technology or equivalent relevant work experience is an asset.
  • Previous experience in an industrial environment is highly regarded.
  • Basic Mill Process Operator Common Core is an asset.
  • Capable of performing physical tasks.
  • Sound understanding of sampling procedures, quality control standards, and safety protocols.
  • Good communication skills and ability to follow procedures.
  • Comfortable using basic computer systems for data entry and reporting.
