Job Summary
Reporting to the Director Transportation, the incumbent of the role will act as a facilitator of change by implementing new business orientations and by attaining objectives determined by upper management. More specifically, the incumbent will be managing the achievement of all client-related priorities and problem-solving as well as supporting the performance of the transportation team. Furthermore, the incumbent will oversee the implementation of TMS processes and make it as efficient as possible by working with developers for client-specific setup requirements. Lastly, the Operations Manager for the transportation department will be in charge of the claims process, including creating and analyzing Accounts Payable (AP) and Account Receivable (AR) reports, as well as managing cost/sell rates.

Responsibilities And Tasks
- Manages day to day activities of transportation team.
- Ensures seamless onboarding of new customers and carrier partnerships as related to transportation.
- Develops, implements and manages a robust KPI scorecard to ensure internal stakeholders are receiving the best customer service from the transportation department.
- Manage start-up operations & projects, related to new business.
- Supervise, plan, organize, coach and evaluate performance of the core activities of the Transport Team
- Identify and capitalize on cost reduction opportunities with carrier & DC Operations
- Maintains all positions by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
- Maintains all positions reviewing job results and taking corrective actions by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
- Achieves financial objectives by providing input on an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
- Identify & facilitate process improvement projects to drive efficiency.

- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience
- Bachelor’s degree in administration or a relevant discipline
- Relevant training in employee management & engagement
- Experience with 3PL operations and TMS knowledge
- Responsible for enforcing best Quality, Environmental and Sustainable practices and ensuring procedures are carried out within day-to-day operations.
- Knowledgeable with the ISO9001:2015 and ISO14001:2015 standard requirements applicable to assigned functions and role.
- Takes accountability and supports team to contribute to the effectiveness of the quality (QMS) and environmental (EMS) management systems.
- Understanding system functionality & usage (TMS)
- Ability to solve problems related to systems reports (TMS)
- Ability to manage and measure reports related to Actual VS Budgeted activities.
- Budget managed & budget amount (if applicable): Manage a budget over $10M for transport-related activities.
