Overview: The Accounting Manager ensures the completion of full cycle accounting activities for the BSRX division.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Power user for Vena reporting on actuals, and reconciliation to the source systems
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reporting packages for the corporation
  • Prepare monthly legal entity consolidation
  • Prepare working papers, journal entries, and accounting reconciliations for complex areas of accounting
  • Monitor new accounting pronouncements, analyze impact, adopt new policies and communicate changes as needed
  • Responsible for the accuracy and completeness of monthly Balance Sheet account analysis
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls
  • Lead the information gathering for the year-end audit and financial statements
  • Lead the implementation and enhancement of month-end closing procedures
  • Lead the implementation of projects and process improvements in the department
  • Support the transition of acquisitions and expansion in the business
  • Participate in ongoing internal and/or external continuing education activities
  • Adhere to Bayshore Policies and Procedures
  • Participate in quality activities and continuous improvement initiatives in keeping with the company's Quality Management System
  • Assist in insurance, treasury and legal entity reviews
  • Complete other tasks as requested
  • Manage, coach and mentor the Accounting team (currently 4 members)

Qualifications

Education:

  • Post-secondary Degree and completion of CPA accounting designation.

Experience

  • Three years of related accounting experience
  • Proven track record in variance analysis
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
  • At least 2 years of experience managing a team
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, growth organization
