Scope of Position
Reporting to the Facilities & Maintenance Leadership, the Facility Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the general day to day, upkeep, repair and maintenance of MHICA requisitions and is responsible for maintaining production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment.

Scope of Position
Reporting to the Facilities & Maintenance Leadership, the Facility Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the general day to day, upkeep, repair and maintenance of MHICA requisitions and is responsible for maintaining production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment.
Responsibilities
- Ensure proper condition of machinery through regular inspections and preventative care, and source/ repair equipment as necessary.
- Oversee separation and control of chemical waste, metal, and wood product disposal.
- Prepare mechanical maintenance reports, requests, and other documentation as required.
- Coordinate daily production maintenance requests and repairs through the JIRA System.
- Prepare and perform maintenance to all shipping bracket details.
- Assist trade personnel with major activities as required.
- Manage and support items directly (deliveries & pickups).
- Safely operate cranes, forklifts, scissor lifts and booms.
- Read blueprints and drawings and take measurements to plan layout and procedures.
- Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
- Prepare welding equipment according to appropriate specifications.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Assist custodial staff as required to ensure a clean facility.
- Minimum of 3 years of maintenance or heavy equipment experience required.
- Advanced technical or college training preferred.
- Proficiency with Jira, Unipoint, and other administrative systems.
- Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG, MMA etc.).
- Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.).
- Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanics, and electrical systems.
- Capable of operating hand, power, and specialized tools.
- Ability to complete and receive equipment certification as set by MHICA Health & Safety requirements such as, Forklift, Crane operator, Scissor Lift, Boom Lift, and Hazardous Waste Handling.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bending and twisting required to different shelf levels to lift a variety of aircraft and other parts as required.
- Pushing/pulling a variety of items and packed carts of aircraft parts and others as required.
- Lifting up to 40lbs may be required.
- Working in confined spaces.
- Standing/walking for full shift hours as required.
