Fitness & Wellness Leader 2

The Opportunity:

This position is responsible for assisting with the development, monitoring, implementing and evaluation of fitness and wellness programs and services.

As our preferred candidate, you will have:

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• 2 year post secondary diploma in physical education, kinesiology or recreation.
• AFLCA resistance training certification (or equivalent certification from another recognized association).
• Intermediate First Aid certification.
• Possession of a valid Alberta Driver’s license.
• 1 year experience in a fitness centre instructing group exercise classes.
• Exceptional customer service skills with the qualities to thrive within a team environment.
• Demonstrated high level of verbal, written and listening skills.
• Ability to instruct, motivate and encourage others.
• Proven to be self-motivated with strong leadership skills.
• Demonstrate punctuality, adaptability and flexibility.
• Ability to work irregular hours including evenings and weekends is essential.
• Commitment to the City’s Cornerstone Values.

Remuneration:

$34.42 to $36.23 per hour.

Hours of Work:

64 hours biweekly, as scheduled. Shifts include early mornings, daytime, evenings and weekends to meet the needs to the facility.
