Job Summary:
The Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) plays a key role within the Canadian affiliate, blending strategic insights with hands-on financial management. Reporting directly to the Planning Controller, this position helps steer strategic financial planning and detailed operational activities. A versatile skill set is required to drive financial success through effective plan execution, improved operational efficiencies, and accurate financial analysis and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing and executing comprehensive financial planning cycles, including Plans, Updates, LBEs, and LRP.
- Support strategic initiatives by delivering detailed financial analyses, presenting insights, and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Manage daily FP&A operations, ensuring accurate, timely financial reporting and deliverables.
- Prepare and deliver precise financial reports and dashboards that enable informed decision-making by senior leaders.
- Conduct variance analysis, offering actionable insights to bolster financial operations.
- Develop and implement metrics that align with strategic goals to improve operational efficiency.
- Collaborate on finance transformation projects to implement best practices in financial systems.
- Serve as a trusted financial advisor, building strong working relationships with stakeholders.
- Coach and mentor FP&A Senior Analysts, fostering a culture of collaboration and high performance.
- Support the Planning Controller with strategic and operational responsibilities, acting as a critical partner.
- Conduct ad hoc analyses and participate in special projects, supporting the Planning Controller and senior leadership.
- This position will have a Financial Analyst reporting to them
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Professional designation preferred (CA, CGA, CMA, or MBA).
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
- Advanced proficiency in financial software, ERP systems (e.g., SAP, BPC), and Microsoft Excel; proficiency in Power BI is an asset.
- Experience in the bio-pharmaceutical or healthcare industry is preferred.
- Proven ability to work with senior leadership and communicate complex financial insights effectively.
- Experience leading or mentoring teams and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Strong leader and keen collaborator with a strong sense of ownership.
- Excellent organizational skills to set and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong initiative and inquisitive mindset.
- Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to generate ideas, challenge the status quo, and drive innovation to reality.
