Role Overview

As Director of Business Development, you will be the driving force behind CTK's growth strategy leading the charge to expand our footprint across the construction industry. You'll leverage your deep knowledge of the sector and a strong network of decision-makers to identify and secure new opportunities. With a focus on high-impact outreach, relationship-building, and strategic positioning, you'll play a critical role in propelling CTK's reputation and revenue to new heights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities within target markets: industrial, commercial, institutional, and large-scale residential.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with consultants, developers, and end user clients.
  • Develop and execute a strategic growth plan to exceed annual sales targets.
  • Lead all aspects of the business development lifecycle-from prospecting and presentations to RFP submissions and contract negotiations.
  • Work cross-functionally with estimating, project delivery, and executive leadership to ensure seamless handoff and execution.
  • Represent CTK at industry events, trade shows, and client meetings to enhance visibility and build brand equity.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies.
  • Track and report KPIs, pipeline health, win/loss rates, and ROI on business development initiatives.

What We're Looking For:

  • 10+ years of experience in business development, sales, or account management within construction or systems contracting (electrical, low-voltage, security).
  • Demonstrated success hunting for new business and opening major accounts from scratch.
  • Deep network and understanding of construction stakeholders and project lifecycle.
  • A proactive, reliable, and professional demeanor with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Tech-savvy with experience using CRM systems, sales dashboards, and proposal tools.
  • Self-motivated and driven to succeed in a commission pay for performance role.
  • Ability to travel locally or regionally as needed.
