About Global Merchant Services
In the Global Merchant Services (GMS) department we are dedicated to bringing together buyers and sellers to transform how and where American Express is welcomed. This role is within the GMS Marketing department which is responsible for partnering with stakeholders to drive profitable growth, accelerate coverage and enhance the value of Amex acceptance to merchants and Cardmembers. We focus on enhancing our relationships with millions of merchants of all shapes and sizes, and our geographic purview includes many commerce hubs across the globe including the U.S, Canada, Latin America, the Caribbean, Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.
It is also critical for GMS Marketing to collaborate effectively with Card Issuing teams and other sister organizations across the Blue Box in order to fully harness the power of the closed loop via mediums including Custom Consulting, Amex Offers, Recommendations, Shop Small, Digital Experiences and Brand Awareness. GMS Marketing partners with organizations including Client Management, Marketing Operations, Information Management, Enterprise Digital, Merchant Interactive, Global Advertising and Brand Management and Global Servicing Network.
We are seeking a driven, ambitious and innovative individual who is interested in helping to accelerate American Express’ coverage and acceptance.
The Role
This role will support the Amex Offers Program Management team to ensure excellent campaign execution. The incumbent will drive process efficiencies and bring new Amex Offers capabilities and functionalities to the market to drive merchant engagement. This individual will also be on-boarding and managing third party partners by leading with a compliance-first mindset.
Amex Offers is a state-of-the-art digital platform which aims to deliver differentiated value to both our Cardmembers and merchants to drive engagement and spend. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing innovative marketing campaigns through Amex Offers. Relationships across numerous internal and external partners are critical to support the development, management, and measurement of these marketing campaigns.
The successful candidate will bring a strong customer first mindset along with a proven ability to collaborate and drive results among a diverse stakeholder group, providing an insights-driven strategic thought leadership through marketing excellence, operating as trusted marketing consultant to differentiate our network and support GMS Canada to achieve its business priorities. The incumbent will be responsible for the end-to-end project management of setting up offers to deliver key measurable business metrics such as driving Active locations in force, improving merchant satisfaction, driving merchant and cardmember engagement (unique redeemers, merchant funded offer metrics as measurement)
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing and strengthening vendor partnerships to drive business objectives for both parties.
- Deliver, train and support vendors with proposals, forecasts and campaign results for merchants.
- Partner with Client Management, Merchant Acquisition and other internal partners such as Card Issuers, Public Relations, Offer Governance, Legal and Compliance.
- Project manage and work with Amex processes and systems to support flawless campaign execution.
- Maintain and monitor lead generation channels along with the evaluation of incoming leads.
- University Degree, or equivalent combination of education and business experience.
- Marketing experience, 2 years preferred.
- Progressive development in management of marketing/communication campaigns, including testing strategies, analyzing business opportunities, recommending and implementing actions.
- Strong project management skills and organizational skills (attention to detail, handling multiple priorities and stakeholders while managing tight timelines and budget).
- Analyzing and leveraging data to support insights, strategy and recommendations
- Proven ability to build and leverage strong relationships, and take initiative, championing a project from conception through implementation to evaluation.
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills with a customer-centric perspective.
- Ability to operate productively and independently in a fast moving, high energy environment.
