Job Title: Strategic Finance Manager
Location: Candidate must be located in Canada. Our office is located in Toronto, ON, Canada, but the role is remote/hybrid/flexible.
Reports to: SVP, Finance & Operations
About the Position:
We are hiring an experienced Strategic Finance Manager. This senior role will drive financial strategy and analysis across the company, playing a critical role in financial reporting, forecasting, and providing strategic, actionable insights. The Strategic Finance Manager will partner with cross-functional teams to support growth and strategic planning. This is a unique opportunity for someone seeking a role allowing them to be a cross-functional business partner, assisting leadership and key stakeholders across the business to understand growth and performance as we scale and launch new initiatives. The ideal candidate is comfortable being a strategic finance business partner to non-technical individuals across all levels of the business, and loves working with a lot of autonomy and ownership over their work while having the broader team’s support. This position offers extensive exposure to our leadership team and a comprehensive understanding and visibility on all aspects of our business operations.
Responsibilities for the role include:
- Lead the monthly, quarterly and annual forecasting processes in collaboration with department leaders. Work with the financial reporting team to ensure timely and accurate reporting and to understand underlying business drivers.
- Own and maintain our master financial/operating model to support short, medium, and long-term strategic planning. Conduct scenario and sensitivity analyses to evaluate business decisions, risks, and potential ROI.
- Partner directly with our RevOps, Marketing, Engineering, Product, Payments, and Customer Experience teams to provide data-driven insights and support strategic decision-making with a strong ROI. Drive business operations initiatives that enhance overall efficiency and performance.
- Monitor progress against targets for key department-specific initiatives and help drive accountability and transparency of target achievement throughout the company.
- Monitor key metrics and develop dashboards using our BI tool to highlight trends and business performance. Support the Data team in preparing Monthly Business Reviews to proactively identify trends and opportunities for the team to action.
- Assist with board materials, investor decks, and fundraising data requests. Support due diligence processes and financial data preparation for external stakeholders.
- Act as a trusted advisor to the SVP, Finance & Operations, providing insights and recommendations on key financial decisions and business strategies.
Who you are:
- 5-6 years of experience in FP&A, investment banking, management consulting, or a corporate finance role, having cultivated a strong financial modelling skillset.
- Highly proficient and an expert with BI tools (Sigma is a plus), Google Sheets, and Excel. You must be comfortable operating in a highly technical and data-driven environment. Expertise in SQL is a big plus.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills. You must be able to hypothesize ideas and interpret results using available data and tell a story. This role requires a strategic thinker who strives to go beyond a simple data-pull.
- Exceptionally detail-oriented and organized. While juggling multiple tasks, you have a strong ability to prioritize and maintain accuracy in your deliverables. You thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Ownership and accountability are top-of-mind for you. You require minimal-to-no oversight to produce high-quality output. You are proactive and a self-starter who does not always want to be told what to do.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills - you'll be working closely with most individuals across the company, and will be a close thought partner with department leaders.
Bonus:
- Prior experience in a high-growth startup with a fast-pace environment
- Prior experience in a self-serve SaaS/PLG product environment
- Prior experience partnering with RevOps, or leading RevOps initatives

- Enjoys highly technical work: Extracting data, sifting through the noise from a data output to pull out relevant insights, and working with data analytics tools/technology to drive efficiencies excite you.

- Is highly curious: you don’t take current processes/systems/decisions to be set in stone and constantly question if there is a better way. You have a strong desire to continuously learn, understand, and improve, even in highly ambiguous situations. You are inquisitive by nature and proactively seek out new insights/knowledge by not being afraid to ask questions.
- Has an Owner mentality: You have a very high sense of responsibility and accountability. You are comfortable being a self-starter operating with a high degree of autonomy. You proactively engage in your own work or in cross-functional projects that you are leading.
- Likes to be a Driver: Your preference is to step up and set the pace on any challenge/task/initiative that requires cross-functional alignment and execution.
