- Provide leadership and supervision of team members in achieving the department's mandate, its workload and its objectives related to the function.
- Manage daily performance, including implementation of safety practices, employee attendance, and work standards and methods based on policies and procedures.
- Coordinate resources to achieve deliverables by assigning work to different team members, tracking progress and correcting discrepancies and gaps as needed.
- Supervise the coordination and execution of work by the team (providing expertise and technical support to other departments).
- Participate in budget preparation and ensure the correct expenses are planned, including monitoring and recording cost overruns such as overtime, expenses, equipment, etc.
- D.E.C. (College diploma) in a related technical field
- At least five (5) years of relevant technical experience
- Demonstrated leadership skills and previous experience in a supervisory or leadership position.
- Knowledge of operations and maintenance activities on the canal.
- Experience in service contract management (quotation, call for tenders, etc.)
- Eligibility for certification from the Order of Professional Technologists of Quebec.
- Availability to complete the medical test to meet the physical requirements of the position
- Ability to communicate in French and English
- Knowledge of applicable IT applications and tools as well as related office software (MS Office, SAP, etc.)
- Class 5 driving license and driving record allowing you to take out insurance
