Cota is an accredited not-for-profit organization that has been providing community-based support to people living with mental health and cognitive challenges for over 50 years. At present, our wide array of services delivers much needed support to over 4,000 people/year who live with mental health challenges, psychogeriatric mental health conditions, acquired brain injuries, developmental disabilities, dual diagnoses and/or the experience of homelessness. Cota's Supportive Housing Programs are provided across the entire city of Toronto and operate within a Housing First model of care, guided by a commitment to provide people experiencing homelessness with access to safe, affordable, and supportive housing as a foundational component of their recovery journey. Cota is presently seeking a dynamic and innovative individual to join our amazing team in the capacity of the role outlined within this posting. About The Opportunity
Cota is hiring two full-time Housing Coordinators (Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.), based in North York or Toronto, ON. This role is primarily remote, with weekly in-office meetings and community site visits required.
In this role, you will provide housing coordination and administrative support within Cota’s Supportive Housing Programs. Reporting to the Program Manager and working alongside a team of Housing Coordinators, you will oversee rent supplements, maintain strong landlord relationships, and ensure smooth tenancy processes for individuals facing mental health, homelessness, and/or justice-related challenges.
More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
To qualify, you will need post-secondary education in property management, logistics, project coordination, or administration. A minimum of 2 years’ experience in project coordination or administration will also be essential. You must also have a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle for work-related travel.

About The Opportunity

In this role, you will provide housing coordination and administrative support within Cota’s Supportive Housing Programs. Reporting to the Program Manager and working alongside a team of Housing Coordinators, you will oversee rent supplements, maintain strong landlord relationships, and ensure smooth tenancy processes for individuals facing mental health, homelessness, and/or justice-related challenges.
More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Administering rent supplements and Rent-Geared-to-Income (RGI) calculations within an assigned housing portfolio
- Ensuring accurate and timely data entry in the Arcori property management system and liaising with Finance for rent payments
- Overseeing tenancy agreements, rent collection, arrears management, and landlord-tenant dispute resolution
- Leading the search, approval, and setup of suitable rental units in support of occupancy targets
- Building and maintaining relationships with landlords, community partners, and external agencies
- Supporting teams in eviction prevention and housing issue resolution
- Collaborating with Supportive Housing Workers on tenancy coordination and move-ins
- Providing education and guidance to staff on landlord-tenant rights and housing procedures
- Supporting invoice processing related to tenant and program expenses
- Participating in weekly team meetings and supporting broader housing initiatives across the organization
- Ensuring compliance with the Housing Services Act and relevant legislation
- Supporting the Director and Program Manager in the overall administration of rent supplement portfolios

- Familiarity with the Residential Tenancies Act and housing-related issues
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other standard software
- Ability to manage data and resolve discrepancies using property management systems (Arcori experience is an asset)
- Strong organizational and administrative abilities in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments
- Understanding of client-centred and housing-first approaches to service delivery
