As a Lead Look Development Artist, you will leverage over 7 years of extensive experience and leadership skills to define and implement the look development process. You will provide visionary guidance and inspire a team of talented artists, ensuring the team consistently achieves the highest standards of quality in shaders and textures while maintaining the project's overall visual directi
on.
Responsibilit
ies:● Lead and guide the look development team ensuring efficient, high-quality production resu
lts.● Provide mentorship and support for junior and intermediate arti
sts.● Provide performance review feedback for artists, offering constructive feedback and guida
nce.● Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless handoffs of assets as they move through the pipel
ine.● Ensure consistency, quality, and adherence to show standards through buy-offs and QC che
cks.● Develop and refine templates and tools to address unique asset requireme
nts.● Optimize workflows, tools, and templates to enhance efficiency and streamline proces
ses.● Provide training sessions and document procedures to ensure knowledge transfer and consiste
ncy.● Work with the crew to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical challen
ges.● Coordinate with the Dev department to resolve key technical iss
ues.● Support and assist the look development supervisor as needed, stepping in to run reviews and coordinate tasks and communicati
ons.● Assist the Department HOD in reviewing and interviewing potential new hires for the proj
ect.
What we need t
o see● Mastery of Katana’s lighting and material pipeline, including managing complex se
tups.● Advanced understanding of shading, lighting, and rendering techni
ques.● Proficient in Linux/UNIX; additional knowledge of Python is advantag
eous.● Proven ability to collaborate effectively with other departm
ents.● Strong commitment to high-quality assets through consistency and quality con
trol.● Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to contribute creative i
deas.● Solid understanding of color space and artistic aspects of asset crea

ence.
The anticipated base salary for this position is $49.37 to $71.92/hr. Benefits are per company policy: which include healthcare, tuition reimbursement, RRSP's, Sick and Vacation leave, standard increases as applicable. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the pos
ition.
