Job Title Strength & Conditioning Coach
Reports to Manger, Performance Training Centre
Division Sport
Scope of Position
As the Strength & Conditioning Coach, you will support the training environment within the Performance Training Centre (PTC), High Performance Training Centre HPTC), and the Bob Niven Training Centre (BNTC) to ensure all fitness facilities are appropriately maintained to meet the needs of members, athletes and guests. You will provide on-floor support and supervision to all guests through facilitating personal, small group or team training sessions. The successful candidate will exhibit traits that align with WinSport’s values and key behaviours.

Responsibilities
- Design, supervise and implement appropriately periodized strength and conditioning programs to general population, youth, and development athletes.
- Build rapport and a professional relationship with teams and athletes and arrange follow-ups when necessary.
- Keep records of all sessions, dates, times and any incidences that may have occurred
- Keep current with industry research and present on topics of interest within the profession to the strength and conditioning team.
- Ensure the training environment is congruent with facility and WinSport athlete and member programming requirements.
- Inventory and safety check the weight room equipment and help inform ongoing equipment repairs and needs for training and new programming.
- Configure and help organize the weight room, equipment and support the overall daily training environment at the PTC on an ongoing basis.
- Provide training support/guidance, where necessary, to all training guests.
- Enforce code of conduct within the facilities and manage any behavior concerns appropriately.
- Follow and uphold the WinSport Policies and Procedures.
- Demonstrate a safe work practice at all times by adhering to all WinSport safety policy and procedures and ensuring one’s own safety is preserved along with the safety of co-workers and WinSport guests.
- Be mindful of all safety hazards within the work environment and ensure all safety issues are reported to the appropriate individuals
- Review all OH & S notices/meeting minutes as they are distrusted or posted on OH & S boards located within all departments.
- Other duties as required
- University degree in Kinesiology or related field required.
- Recognized professional certifications such as Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology (CSEP) or National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA) an asset
- First Aid and CPR required.
- Attention to detail to accomplish all relevant tasks completely and accurately while ensuring safety of WinSport guests.
- Excellent communication skills to build personal and professional relationships with WinSport staff and guests.
- Work independently as well as within a team environment.
- Technically proficient and competent in coaching and performing key lifts and movements.
- Ability to adapt to multiple training demographics and have proper progressions and regressions for individuals within those populations.
- Passion for curiosity to further knowledge in the strength and conditioning field.
- Passion to help others achieve fitness goals and develop the individual or team through a holistic approach.
- Have intent and reasoning behind everything you do.
- Able to lift 45 pounds unassisted.
