Star of the Sea Elementary is seeking a friendly and organized temporary school secretary to join our front office team starting at the end of August. This position plays a key role in creating a welcoming and efficient school environment for students, staff, and families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for visitors, students, and parents
  • Answer phones, manage emails, and handle general office correspondence
  • Provide administrative support to staff and school leadership
  • Maintain student records and attendance
  • Assist with communications and scheduling
  • Use office software to manage documents, forms, and internal communications

Qualifications

  • Friendly and professional demeanor
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with computers and common office software (Word, Excel, email, etc.)
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy school environment
  • Willingness to learn new systems

Assets (Not Required)

  • Previous experience as a school secretary
  • Familiarity with MyEd BC
