SENIOR ESTIMATOR – Building Materials & Construction Products

A highly respected Canadian manufacturer operating a state-of-the-art production facility in Southern Alberta is seeking a Senior Estimator to join their growing team. This position is located south of Calgary.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Senior Estimator, you will be an integral part of the estimating and sales process, providing accurate analysis, pricing, and technical support across a variety of projects. Must be passionate about building strong relationships with customers. Key responsibilities include:

• Reviewing blueprints, specifications and project documents to prepare accurate take-offs and cost estimates.
• Foster strong relationships with customers as well as advising on technical aspects of building envelope.
• Working closely with outside sales and internal teams to execute business with new and existing clients.
• Supporting external sales representatives in quoting and closing opportunities with existing and new customers.
• Occasionally visiting job sites to gain insight and strengthen customer relationships.
• Excellent training and support in an on-going learning environment.
  
  

Who You Are

About

This role is ideal for someone with a technical mindset and passionate about building strong relationships with clients. You enjoy collaborating across departments, solving problems creatively, and delivering professional service to clients. You bring:

• 2+ years of experience in estimating, project coordination, or inside sales within the construction, architectural, or building materials industry.
• Proven ability to read and interpret construction drawings, take-offs, and scopes of work.
• Strong communication skills – verbal, written, and technical.
• Comfort with technology – ERP systems, estimating tools, or similar platforms.
• High attention to detail, time management, and the ability to handle multiple priorities.
• A proactive attitude and a willingness to learn new systems and materials.
  
  

Experience with exterior building envelope systems, custom metal or panel fabrication, or previous exposure to the steel roofing/siding space is a strong asset—but not mandatory.
