Richmond Country Club features a year-round racquets facility with eight courts, including four indoor and four outdoor, all equipped for all-weather, day or evening play. We offer both tennis and pickleball, supporting recreational play, in-house leagues, and structured programming for all ages and skill levels.
Our coaching team includes highly certified professionals, from national-level athletes to internationally experienced coaches. Our programs align with the Tennis Canada Development Pathway, emphasizing progressive, holistic player development across junior, adult, and competitive streams.

Key Responsibilities
The Assistant Tennis Professional will:
- Deliver high-energy group clinics, private/semi-private lessons, and summer camps for both our adult and junior members (players of all ages and skill levels), ensuring all programs meet the clubs standards of excellence.
- Assist with the existing and sought-after High-Performance Program.
- Support weekly leagues, round robins, junior teams, and social tennis events.
- Deliver consistent, high-quality programming while confidently leading sessions independently.
- Respond to member inquiries and requests promptly, professionally, and with a positive attitude.
- Create a welcoming, safe, and inclusive environment for all participants.
- Ensure players are engaged, challenged, and having fun in every session.
- Collaborate with the Director of Racquets to continuously improve programs, focusing on member satisfaction and engagement.
- Actively promote member participation in all tennis programs using the available resources.
- Help create an atmosphere where members feel valued and receive personalized service that goes above and beyond their expectations.
- Be flexible to work evenings and weekends in line with the program scheduling.
- Assist with event setup, administration, and occasional program development meetings.
- Work collaboratively as a team player within the tennis coaching team.
- Assist the team in overall program delivery, covering teammates and helping during various events.
We are looking for a coach who:
- Has a genuine passion for tennis and teaching, with a strong focus on member satisfaction.
- Has strong people skills and a professional, team-first attitude.
- Brings enthusiasm, reliability, and a passion for player development.
- Is confident leading a court and adaptable to working with different ages and skill levels.
- Shows a desire to grow, learn, and contribute to the long-term success of the Club.
- Has experience in both junior development and adult instruction.
- Actively participates in certifications to upskill.
- Minimum Tennis Canada CP1 Certification or international equivalent (active TPA membership preferred).
- 13 years of coaching experience.
- Strong playing background preferred.
- Professional Liability Insurance (via TPA or equivalent).
- First Aid & CPR Certification.
- Clear Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Sector).
- Minimum 4.0+ playing level.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Previous experience in tennis instruction or assistant professional roles is a plus.
- Job Environment: On-site only, indoor courts, and outdoor courts (during the summer only).
- Ability to commute/relocate: Richmond, BC- reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
