Who You Are

We are seeking a highly motivated and commercially driven Buyer to join the Footwear and Handbags team. This individual will work closely with internal partners to define and manage the product assortment that aligns with sales goals and business strategies. The ideal candidate has a solid background in buying, a practical and efficient work style, and a strong entrepreneurial mindset.

  • Alongside the buying manager, owns the end-to-end buying process for assigned categories or commodities.
  • Develop and manage seasonal assortments aligned with business goals, financial targets, and brand vision.
  • Collaborate with Product Development and Planning teams to ensure margin targets and budgetary goals are achieved.
  • Work closely with Planning to develop merchandise plans based on forecasts, historical data, and financial objectives.
  • Monitor product performance and stock levels, identifying best sellers and underperformers.
  • Take proactive actions to maintain or improve sales based on analysis of sales vs. plan, year-over-year comparisons, and stock cover.
  • Analyze weekly sales data to identify trends, fit issues, and opportunities for reorders or updates. React quickly to in-season business needs.
  • Track production milestones and vendor performance to maintain delivery timelines and quality standards.
  • Maintain strong relationships and clear communication with vendors and cross-functional teams.
  • Conduct regular competitive research and market analysis to identify opportunities and inform product direction.
  • Stay current with fashion trends, customer preferences, and the competitive landscape.
  • Develop seasonal product / buying architecture including “keeps,” best-sellers, newness, updates, and key trends.
  • Work cross-functionally with Product Development, Allocation, Planning, and Marketing teams to ensure a cohesive strategy.

What You’ll Need

  • 3+ years of experience in a buying or merchandising role, preferably in fashion or retail.
  • University level degree or related experience.
  • Bilingualism required (French and English)
  • Proficient in Excel and MS Office
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills with a detail-oriented approach.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong commercial awareness and a passion for product and trend analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of merchandise planning, forecasting, and financial acumen.
