Role Summary
The Network Administrator is responsible for maintaining the stability, security, and performance of the organization’s network infrastructure across multiple sites, including a central manufacturing facility and distribution centers in Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario, and Saskatchewan. This role ensures secure, stable, and high performing network connectivity to support day to day business operations, communication, and data integrity across all locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot network infrastructure across all company locations, including the central manufacturing site and remote distribution centers.
- Install, configure, and support network hardware and software including switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless access points.
- Ensure reliable WAN and LAN performance to enable seamless communication between sites.
- Implement and maintain network security best practices to protect against unauthorized access and data breaches.
- Manage network access controls, permissions, and configurations in accordance with company policies.
- Document network architecture, standards, and procedures.
- Coordinate with third party vendors or service providers for network related services or support.
- Monitor system logs and alerts, and proactively address potential issues before they impact operations.
- Support the IT team in disaster recovery planning and implementation of redundancy solutions.
- Provide elevated support for network related incidents, assisting internal team members and end users as needed.
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 – 5 years of experience in network administration, preferably supporting multiple locations.
- Solid understanding of networking protocols, routing, switching, VPN’s, and firewalls.
- Hands on experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls, including policy management and threat prevention.
- Experience with other enterprise networking equipment.
- Familiarity with Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and cloud based systems.
- Strong problem solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent communications skills and the ability to support users remotely and in person.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to distribution centers across Canada.
- Relevant certifications such as Network+, CCNA, or Palo Alto certifications (i.e. PCNSA, PCNSE) are considered assets.
- Successful candidates will be required to pass a criminal record check.
