Neo Financial

City: Calgary, AB
Contract type: Full time
Join us to build a more rewarding financial future for all Canadians

Neo is building what Canada’s big banks won’t: modern financial products that actually make your money work for you. We’re a technology company, not a traditional bank, which means no legacy systems, no decades-old red tape, and no tolerance for “good enough.” In just a few years, we’ve built a multi-product platform from scratch, launched credit, savings, investing, and rewards that millions of Canadians use every day, and partnered with some of the biggest brands in the country. Our team is behind some of Canada’s fastest-growing companies (like SkipTheDishes), and we’re now taking on one of the largest, most broken industries in the country. If you’re excited by the idea of rewriting the financial playbook, Neo might be your next move.

The Role

We’re hiring a Senior or Lead Product Manager to take the lead on the product strategy for fraud prevention, detection, and anti-money laundering (AML) systems to ensure we protect our customers and platform without compromising on experience. You'll work at the intersection of compliance, risk, data, and engineering to stay ahead of evolving financial threats. This role is about more than managing a roadmap: it’s about figuring out what we should build, why it matters, and how to make it real.

You’ll work closely with a tight-knit team of designers and engineers to solve real problems for millions of Canadians. That might mean shaping long-term strategy, getting scrappy with prototypes, running experiments, digging through data, or jumping on calls with customers. You’ll be expected to think big, sweat the details, and help your team move fast in the right direction.

Neo is growing quickly, and that means this role won’t stay static. You'll likely be building some products from scratch, scaling others, and adapting into new domains as priorities shift. If you're excited by the idea of owning a big slice of a product, figuring things out as you go, and building for impact then you’ll feel at home here.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Develop and evolve systems that detect and prevent fraud, account takeovers, and suspicious activity, balancing risk reduction with seamless user experiences.
  • Build tooling and infrastructure to support real-time decisioning, case management, and AML investigations, enabling faster and more effective fincrime operations.
  • Set a clear product vision for your area and make sure your team deeply understands the “why” behind what you're building.
  • Work closely with designers, engineers, marketers and anyone else needed to move from insight to implementation. You’ll go from whiteboard to shipped product (and probably back again).
  • Talk to users regularly. You’ll gather insights firsthand and use them to shape decisions, challenge assumptions, and uncover opportunities.
  • Write narratives, not just tickets. You’ll bring structure to ambiguity through clear strategy docs, roadmaps, and product briefs that help everyone make better decisions.
  • Define success with real metrics and drive measurable results.
  • Prioritize like it’s a superpower. You’ll have to make smart trade-offs, manage edge cases, and keep the team focused on what truly matters.
  • Contribute to improving our product culture. You’ll mentor peers, share learnings, and help raise the bar across the team.

Who We Are Looking For

  • 5+ years of hands-on PM experience at tech or tech-forward companies, ideally in consumer or marketplace products. You’ve owned areas of the product end-to-end
  • You’re comfortable working with engineers, designers, data analysts, ops. No fancy titles, just real partnership to get things done
  • You think in systems and edge cases. You can connect high-level strategy with granular execution
  • You obsess over outcomes. Whether it’s a 0→1 launch or optimizing existing features, you measure impact and aren’t satisfied until you've moved the needle
  • You communicate like a pro. Clear stories, compelling roadmaps, and presentations that land, on both product deep-dives and exec syncs
  • You thrive through ambiguity. Fast-paced, evolving priorities don’t scare you, they’re your sweet spot
  • You lead with humility: high standards, low ego. You listen, learn, and lift others as you go.
  • You’ve got relevant experience in fraud prevention or you're a fast learner who will treat it like your product from day one.
  • If you’ve built real products, own your outcomes, and want to shape both Neo and the people we build them with then you’re exactly who we need.

Coming from a non-PM background?

Many of our strongest PMs started in consulting, engineering, or finance. If you're eager to move from advising or analyzing to building products, we’ll support you in learning the product craft. What matters most is how you think, solve problems, and lead through complexity. If this role excites you, we want you to apply even if “Product Manager” hasn’t been your title (yet).
