The Company
An established and community-focused real estate organization is seeking a creative and driven Marketing Manager to lead initiatives at one of Edmonton’s most recognized shopping destinations. With a strong presence in the commercial real estate and retail property sectors, this group is committed to creating meaningful connections between retailers, customers, and the surrounding community.
The Role
This in-person position is responsible for overseeing all marketing, communications, event planning, and guest services activities for a high-traffic shopping centre in Edmonton. The ideal candidate brings a blend of strategic thinking and hands-on execution, with a strong understanding of digital marketing, traditional media, and community engagement. This role is integral in driving foot traffic, supporting retailer success, and enhancing the overall guest experience.
Responsibilities
- Marketing Strategy & Campaigns:
- Develop and execute the annual marketing strategy and budget, aligning efforts with business goals such as traffic growth and tenant sales.
- Use data and analytics to evaluate campaign effectiveness and adjust plans accordingly.
- Collaborate with leasing and operations teams to align marketing efforts with broader property initiatives.
- Digital & Traditional Marketing:
- Manage the property’s website, social media platforms, and email communications.
- Work with designers and content creators to develop brand-aligned campaigns.
- Oversee paid media, SEO/SEM, and marketing automation efforts.
- Event Planning & Promotions:
- Conceptualize and manage seasonal events, community activations, and experiential campaigns.
- Partner with retailers to promote in-store events, product launches, and store openings.
- Tenant Engagement:
- Act as a strategic partner to over 160+ tenants, supporting their marketing initiatives and encouraging participation in centre-wide campaigns.
- Communications & Public Relations:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all public-facing communications.
- Draft press releases, internal updates, and community messaging.
- Foster relationships with media outlets, schools, and local non-profits to elevate the property’s community presence.
- Budget Management & Reporting:
- Manage the marketing budget, track performance, and prepare post-campaign reports.
- Liaise with external vendors and consultants to ensure smooth delivery of services.
- Support sponsorship and partnership initiatives in collaboration with the leasing team.
- Guest Services Oversight:
- Lead a small team of Guest Services professionals, ensuring exceptional customer service.
- Ensure the team is equipped with knowledge of policies, tenant offerings, and centre updates.
- Encourage team participation in centre events and activations.
Requirements
- Degree or diploma in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- 5+ years of marketing experience, preferably in retail, real estate, or property management.
- Strong background in digital marketing, social media, and PR.
- Proven ability to plan and execute large-scale events.
- Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and Canva or similar tools.
- A collaborative team player with a strong sense of initiative and attention to detail.
- Ability to work some evenings and weekends to support events.
This is an on-site role based in Edmonton.
