As a Maintenance Millwright at Cargill, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of mechanical and electrical equipment through preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs. About The Role
As a Maintenance Millwright at Cargill, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of mechanical and electrical equipment through preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, technical expertise, and the ability to work in a dynamic beef processing environment.
What You Need
- Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada
- Be 18 years or older
- Ontario or Inter-Provincial 433A Millwright Certificate is required
- Full License with 8,000 Apprenticeship hours completed
- Minimum of 3-5 years experience as a licensed Mechanic Millwright in a manufacturing or production environment
- Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written)
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and in varied environmental conditions such as but not limited to dust, noise, hot and cold
- Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)
- Ability to work in confined spaces
- Perform physical tasks (bending, kneeling, climbing, lifting up to 50 lbs.)
- Complete general maintenance and repairs on machinery and equipment
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues
- Operate motorized vehicles and equipment
- Follow all safety, food safety, and environmental regulations
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals
- Welding certification or other trade experience
- Experience in food manufacturing and CFIA regulations
- Ability to read blueprints and layout drawings
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
