Purpose:
The Manager, Digital Marketing plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing a strategic, data-driven approach to digital marketing for the Faculty of Health. Reporting to the Director, Strategic Enrolment & Marketing, the role is responsible for leading digital marketing initiatives that enhance brand awareness, drive engagement, and support student recruitment and enrolment goals. Responsibilities include planning, developing, implementing, and managing digital marketing strategies across various channels, including social media, email, and online advertising.The role champions the development and promotion of a strong, cohesive and effective Faculty brand identity and collaborates with the Communications and Public Affairs (C&PA) Division and Communications & Marketing, Division of Students to advocate and prioritize the Faculty's objectives to ensure efforts are complimentary to both the Faculty and the broader University's strategic priorities.

Education:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline, such as Marketing, Digital Media and Design, Creative Writing, or Communications.

Experience:
4 years of related experience.
2 years of management experience.
Experience with social media, mobile applications, web-based communications, and online monitoring and measurement platforms.

Skills:
Knowledge
Knowledge of digital marketing strategies, tools, and best practices.
Familiarity with university policies, procedures, and branding principles.
Understanding of York's digital brand guidelines and effective communication strategies.
Awareness of current digital marketing trends and emerging technologies/ platforms.
Knowledge of Search Engine Optimization (SEO).
Understanding of data privacy regulations and compliance requirements, including photo and video consent.
Working knowledge of managing in a unionized environment and applying a collective agreement. Skills
Effective and collaborative interpersonal skills, including listening and questioning skills.
Able to effectively build relationships, negotiate and influence, and manage change in a complex environment.
Proficient with design and video editing tools such as InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Premier Pro, Canva, or other professional image/video editing software.
Ability to use digital marking tools such as analytic platforms (e.g., Google Analytics) and CRM systems.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Networking, community building and partnership development skills.
Effective organizational and time management skills.
Ability to develop and/or lead cohesive teams and manage performance andproductivity.
Ability to think creatively to develop marketing content and new strategies. Skilled in creative storytelling.
Ability to handle politically sensitive issues and difficult situations in a calm, tactful, confidential, and diplomatic manner.
Effective research skills to stay abreast of latest market needs, recruitment and conversion strategies to facilitate informed, evidence-based decision making.
Experience working with WordPress to design and manage websites.
Proficiency in social media management.
Proficient with use of Microsoft Office applications, such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Compensation:
York's CPM Compensation Framework has a salary grid consisting of 6 or 8 steps (depending on job grade) which is reviewed annually with possible adjustments, and a lump sum Performance Based Recognition Award. Employees will receive the grid adjustment and depending on performance, eligible permanent employees may move to the next step of the grid and may receive a lump sum Performance Based Recognition Award.Visit the CPM Compensation page on the HR Website to find out more about York's CPM Compensation Program.
