Summary
The Investment Analyst’s primary responsibility is to support all new Multifamily acquisition initiatives. Works most closely with VP-Acquisitions but also Development, Construction and Management teams to generate project level financial pro-formas.

Typically in a sedentary office setting or outdoor environment. Possible to work long hours and odd schedules (weekends) in order to fulfill job duties.

Summary

Primary Duties And Responsibilities
- Financial model development.
- Perform complicated financial modeling and spreadsheet analysis (in Excel).
- Maintain transaction pipeline, staying abreast of on-market and off-market acquisition opportunities and comparable sales information.
- Evaluate and model debt alternatives, as well as joint venture equity waterfalls.
- Research, monitor and analyze market, asset class trends and general economic conditions, industry specific trends.
- Recommend appropriate strategies across a wide range of asset classes regarding new & existing investments.
- Help to review and analyze legal documents and third-party reports as part of the due diligence process.
- Coordinate and compile information regarding market data, occupancy data, expense analysis, aerials, maps, and rent comparables.
- Provide detailed Industry research to support investments
- Creating portfolio performance reports.
- Acting as key member of deal teams, supporting due diligence, and drafting investment memos.
- Organize and present data analysis, draw objective conclusions and make recommendations.
- Help create bank packages to solicit (debt) term sheets.
Minimum Qualifications
- BA/BS or Degree in Real Estate Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or related field; MBA preferred.
- Experience with Multifamily – ideally Student Housing - Real Estate Finance and Underwriting strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated thoughtful and disciplined approach to real estate investment.
- Proven experience in financial modeling/analysis of equity and fixed income markets
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written through one on one interactions as well as in small and large group settings with the ability to develop and deliver clear, concise, convincing and well-organized presentations.
- Strong analytical skills and knowledge of accounting, budgeting, and valuation techniques for real estate
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with Expert Excel skills and abilities
- Strong Organizational Skills.
- Ability to multi-task.
