To achieve this, we have developed The Globe Pulsed Field System – we have a fantastic technical team that has developed a product with strong, unique, and customer-valued differentiators versus other solutions on the market. We have built connections with key opinion leaders who are already using the Globe System and are helping to tell our story.

We have now completed our pivotal clinical study and our focus is on regulatory approvals and commercial launch. This is an exciting and significant milestone in our journey to bring this ground-breaking technology to patients.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to be a part of a growing IT team, as we build the systems and processes needed to support our staff and become a public company over the next few years.

Please note, this opportunity is a hybrid work arrangement, located in Burnaby, BC.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Cyber Security Specialist, you will play a critical role in protecting our hybrid, multi-site environment by proactively managing and strengthening cybersecurity measures across the organization. You will:

  • Manage user access controls and permissions to enforce least privilege principles
  • Implement, configure, and maintain cybersecurity tools and solutions (e.g., endpoint protection, SIEM, firewalls)
  • Monitor security alerts, logs, and system activity to detect, analyze, and respond to potential threats or breaches
  • Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and coordinate timely remediation with IT and system administrators
  • Investigate and respond to security incidents, ensuring appropriate documentation and follow-up
  • Perform periodic reviews and updates of security policies, procedures, and standards to maintain compliance
  • Drive security awareness through employee training, phishing simulations, and best practice guidance
  • Collaborate with internal system admins and product cybersecurity teams to ensure operational continuity and compliance
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging threats, technologies, and regulatory requirements to inform strategy and tools

What You Bring To The Team

You are suited to our approach and possess these attributes:

  • 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity, IT security operations, or related fields
  • Strong understanding of access control, threat detection, and vulnerability management
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls)
  • Proficient in using SIEM tools, endpoint protection platforms, and other security tech
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to assess risk and troubleshoot incidents
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork
  • Cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ (preferred)

Compensation

Kardium has listed the total cash compensation range (base salary + 5% RRSP contribution) that we expect to pay applicants for this role, as of the time of this posting. Pay offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, and business or organizational needs. For candidates with more or less experience than listed above, the pay range will be adjusted.

As a permanent employee, you will also participate in Kardium’s stock option plan.

  • $70,000 - $95,000 (CAD Annually)
