Role Overview
Lead tactical and operational management of Infrastructure technologies at Teck’s North American sites.
In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following major functions:
Coordinate incident responses for IT/OT systems ensuring production and safety are unaffected.
North America Site Operations Manager ensures SLA compliance by planning and implementing maintenance for IT/OT systems, and updating monitoring processes.
Standardize Operational Procedures and Practices: The North America Site Operations Manager will lead the standardization of site work procedures and practices relating to Infrastructure and Operations, ensuring consistency in quality, cost efficiency, and safety across all locations.
Transfer to Operations: Ensure the seamless integration of new IT/OT technologies into the operational environment without disrupting the existing ecosystem.

Manage North American site operations, focusing on critical IT/OT systems for production and safety.
Success in this role hinges on the capability to cultivate robust working relationships with cross-functional teams, business units, and external vendors. Timely identification and resolution of incidents—particularly those affecting production or safety—need to be handled in line with established SLAs. Calm, steady leadership, solid organizational skills, and clear communication are imperative, no matter the circumstances.
Additionally, the Site Operations Manager is encouraged to take a risk-based approach to operational continuity, tailored to the outstanding operational risk profile of each site.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and enforce standards, procedures, and guidelines for IT/OT service delivery at site level.
- Champion the adoption of the global TDS operating model across sites to foster a unified operational culture.
- Proactively monitor the health of critical IT/OT systems, identifying and mitigating risks before they impact business operations.
- Coordinate the transition of new technology services into operations, managing risks to ensure business continuity and SLA adherence.
- Lead incident resolution and system improvements through effective coordination with Level 1 and 2 support teams.
- Ensure the availability of appropriately skilled and resourced personnel to support production and safety-critical technologies.
- Plan and coordinate on-site work with a focus on meeting SLA commitments.
- Consolidate and manage demand across sites, prioritizing tasks that support business continuity and emerging needs.
- Ensure third-party service providers align with contractual obligations, including budget, safety, quality, and internal policies.
- Collaborate with TDS teams to conduct post-incident reviews, ensuring lessons learned are detailed and improvement actions are implemented.
- Collaborate closely with the LATAM Operations Manager to ensure adherence to consistent global standards between NA/LATAM
- Provide support for quarterly site operations team workshops.

Certifications / Training
- College/University degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Desirable knowledge in risk management.
Practical Experience / Attributes
- 10 years of progressive experience in senior IT/OT roles.
- Minimum 5 years of experience leading teams that are responsible for the operational continuity of production critical systems in 24x7 industries.
- Safety experience in industries with high employee hazards.
- Deep understanding of third-party contract administration.
- Understanding industrial systems architecture and lifecycle, such as DCS, SCADA, AHS, FMS, among others.
- Mining process understanding desirable.
- Experience in developing and managing leads and supervisors.
- Practical experience managing and coordinating teams comprised of internal and vendor resources.
- Solid organization skills.
- Excellent strategic problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills at both technical and executive level.
Pay Range: CAD $160,000 - $198,000 per year
The actual amount offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
