About the workplace

As a Product Manager on the Commercial Banking Product team, you’ll define the product vision, strategy and drive the execution in alignment with business goals and customer needs. You’ll develop product strategy & vision, own the product roadmap, showcase cross-functional leadership and customer centric thinking. You’ll manage products from ideation and research, through to development, launch, and beyond. You’ll monitor product performance, analyze data, and listen to feedback; to continually optimize products and the value they deliver to members and Vancity.

This role will enjoy hybrid working arrangements which can be fulfilled primarily from the Vancity head office location and your Lower Mainland based home office. This role may require you to work on-site at least once a week.

In this role, you’ll report into Senior Manager of Business and Commercial Product.

A typical day would involve:

  • Building a deep understanding of our products, member needs, strategic goals, and the market environment.
  • Leading the creation of commercial product strategy and roadmap.
  • Championing an insights-driven approach to understand what members value most and create solutions to achieve our goals.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders across the organization (IT, Sales, Marketing, Legal, Risk etc.) to evolve and prioritize roadmaps, assess new opportunities, and support the delivery of high-quality solutions.
  • Partnering with Technology and Business stakeholders across the organization to creatively solve problems, define business requirements, assess feasibility, prioritize features, and deliver product solutions
  • Monitoring product performance, analyzing data, listening to feedback, and making insights-driven decisions to optimize the experience and performance.
  • Manage Product profit and loss (P&L)
  • Managing product compliance and core operations to ensure products remain compliant and competitive in market.
  • Contributing to a culture of product management excellence and customer obsession.

You have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Added bonus if you have a master’s degree in any of the above disciplines
  • At least 5-10 years of experience in product management
  • Experience working in the financial services and banking sector; added bonus if you have experience working on Small-Mid Sized Business and Commercial banking products
  • Strong prioritization, road mapping, data analysis and communication skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including excellent PowerPoint presentation and Excel skills
  • Proficient in defining and gathering business requirements
  • Added bonus if you are a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) or a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) candidate
  • Added bonus if you have Profit & Loss (P&L) management experience
  • Added bonus if you have data analytics, financial modelling, SQL, Python, Power BI, Tableau skills

The salary range for the role is $81,200 to $122,000. The upper half of the salary range is typically reserved for individuals who have demonstrated consistent strong performance in the role and possess a high level of job knowledge and skill. Base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant qualifications, skills, previous experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards package, employees may also be eligible for our annual incentive program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
