What can you expect from this position?

Toronto Pearson is transforming into one of the most advanced, sustainable and passenger-friendly airports in the world through both our LIFT capital program (Long-term Investment in Facilities and Terminals) and the transformation and modernization of the corporation itself. The Business Architect will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Toronto Pearson by defining strategic initiatives, and leading the analysis, design, and implementation of innovative operating models that will enable the airport of the future. Acting as an engagement lead, you will lead a team of experienced process analysts and collaborate with stakeholders, including senior leadership, operations, IT, and external partners. You will be responsible for identifying opportunities for improvement, develop strategic roadmaps, and drive transformation initiatives. You will ensure that changes to organization design, policy and processes are forward-thinking and contribute to the overall success of Toronto Pearson.

As a Business Architect, you will:


  • Strategic Visionary & Advisor: You can translate high-level strategic outcomes into actionable plans, advise leadership on business capabilities, and act as a subject matter expert in airport industry transformation. You are also adept at unifying disparate ideas into a cohesive approach.
  • Operating Model & Solution Designer: You can analyze, design, and implement innovative operating models that shape the future of the airport, developing and maintaining business architecture models and multi-year capability roadmaps.
  • Analytical & Diagnostic Expert: You possess strong diagnostic capabilities to frame business opportunities, including conducting root cause analysis, utilizing data analysis for performance evaluation and trend identification, and preparing actionable recommendations for leadership.
  • Transformation Driver & Enabler: You are a key player in advancing the transformation agenda, identifying and managing delivery risks, removing roadblocks, and fostering a continuous improvement culture within operations.
  • Trusted Collaborator & Stakeholder Manager: You can build and maintain alignment of strategic vision and plans by acting as a trusted advisor and actively participating in consortiums with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Project Management Contributor: You can provide expert input into project management plans, including scope, time/cost estimates, roles, responsibilities, and risk mitigation, and monitor project progress for success metrics and benefit realization

  • Contribute to Project Management: You'll provide expert input into project management plans, including scope, time/cost estimates, roles, responsibilities, and risk mitigation, and monitor project progress for success metrics and benefit realization.


This is the role for you, if you have:


  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), TOGAF Business Architect (preferred)
  • 8 years’ experience designing and implementing new target operating models in a large Corporate/Operations environment that encompass all aspects of org/people, policy, process, technology and analytics working together with senior leadership
  • 2 years’ leadership experience of teams in direct or indirect reporting structures.
  • Airport industry experience (preferred)
  • 4 years working in a Transformation Project setting
  • 3 years leading complex projects
  • 5+ years working for a major consulting firm (preferred)
  • Ability to obtain and retain Transportation Security Clearance
