Position:

As Freight Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating all inbound and outbound shipments of cannabis products, materials, and supplies. You will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, EU-GMP standards, and internal SOPs and play a critical part in supply chain by ensuring timely, secure, and compliant transportation of goods.

Duties include, but will not me limited to:

  • Ensuring proper documentation accompanies all shipments (e.g., BOL, packing slips, manifests, shipping labels, excise stamps).
  • Maintaining shipping records and documentation for internal and external audits.
  • Updating logistics software to reflect real-time shipment status.
  • Supporting product traceability and reconciliation across the supply chain.
  • Collaborating and coordinating with internal and external teams.
  • Evaluating carrier performance and ensuring service agreements meet organizational expectations.
  • Assisting with freight cost tracking and invoice reconciliation.
  • Communicating updates to internal stakeholders.
  • Proactively identifying and resolving issues.

Requirements:

With this being a brand-new role, you will need to be proactive, enthusiastic, and innovative with excellent communication skills across all levels of the company.

Essential requirements are:

  • Post-secondary education in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Prior experience in freight coordination, logistics, or shipping, preferably in cannabis, pharmaceutical, or food industries.
  • Familiarity with Canadian cannabis shipping regulations and documentation (eg. CRA excise compliance).
  • A proficiency with logistics software and ERP systems (eg. SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or equivalent).
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong coordination abilities.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines.

It would also be beneficial if you have experience working in a regulated, EU-GMP, or GPP-compliant environment.
