Position Information

The Analytics Department is looking for a Methodologist to support the Research Office of the Department of Medicine with data analysis and interpretation for research and academic initiatives. This role will work closely with investigators and research coordinators to support the use of clinical, operational, and research data for research planning, execution, and reporting.

The successful candidate will contribute to protocol development, help define research questions and variables, prepare analytic datasets, and support statistical analysis and interpretation. They will also assist with developing dashboards, data visualizations, and other outputs that support knowledge translation and research impact.

Rotation/Shifts

Days, 8 hour shifts. This position is a hybrid work model.

What You Will Bring

  • University degree in Biostatistics, Computer Science, Epidemiology, Statistics, Health Sciences or related field
  • Minimum of two (2) years work experience in programming, data management, and analytical skills.
  • Strong understanding of data modelling principles and methodologies
  • Experience creating advanced reports using tools like Excel, Power BI and EPIC
  • Experience with Office 365 products
  • Experience programming, managing and analyzing data in SAS, SQL, STATA or other languages (R, Python etc.)
  • Knowledge of coding systems relevant to healthcare data (ICD10, CCI)
  • Knowledge of Epidemiologic and Statistical Methodologies
  • Experience with querying data repositories to extract data, investigating and exploring data and assessing data quality in consultation with stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Eligible to work in Canada.

  • Masters Degree in Biostatistics, Computer Science, Epidemiology, Statistics, Health Sciences or related field
  • Familiarity with data governance principles
  • Experience with EPIC data structures, reporting tools, and data querying and validation
  • Demonstrated initiative in the workplace
