Job Description:

On behalf of our healthcare client, Affinity Healthcare Solutions is looking for a SharePoint Solutions Specialist to work on migrating and modernizing their intranet into SharePoint Online.



Responsibilities:

Analysis

• Analysis of our existing 2016 environment providing cleanup guidance and migration timeline estimates

• Identifying native or open-source replacements for Bonzai webparts.

• Identify information architecture change requirements needed for both the new platform and consolidation of the two intranet sites.

• Identify complementary applications within the M365 platform that could be used to enhance user experience

• Gather requirements for the intranet search experience

• Gathering use case, lifecycle, and architecture requirements for our decision support tool catalogue with both the current and future state considerations.

• Creation and signoff of Requirements documentation


Design

• Development of a content migration strategy and future state governance

• Design of a high-level information architecture translating and flattening existing structures from pulse and management center to a single hub & spoke model

• Design the look, feel, and function of new intranet page templates including theming, webparts, configuration, and permissions

• Detail how integrations function, along with implementation plan

• Design of an enhanced search experience utilizing Aequos (PnP)

• Creation of wireframe prototype of the future state of the decision support tool catalogue

• Design of a content migration process utilizing Sharegate

• Creation and signoff of design documentation


Implementation & Testing

• Installation of identified open source webparts into the tenant

• Creation and configuration of the intranet framework including theming, templates, homepage, site structure, navigation, and permissions

• Implementation of identified integrations

• Creation of the enhanced search experience structure

• Creation of the decision support tool catalogue structure

• Overseeing, advising and troubleshooting the content migration process

• User Acceptance testing as required.

• Creation of Post-Implementation Governance and Sustainment Documentation

• Support and Knowledge transfer


Qualifications:

SharePoint Expertise

• Deep experience with both SharePoint 2016 (on-premises) and SharePoint Online (M365) environments.

• Familiarity with Bonzai Intranet architecture and its limitations, especially in the context of Pulse and Management Centre deployments

• Understanding of modern SharePoint Online features such as modern web parts, page layouts, and integration with Microsoft 365 tools like Teams, Power Automate, and OneDrive

Migration Tools & Techniques

• Proficiency with tools like SharePoint Migration Tool (SPMT), ShareGate, or SMAT (SharePoint Migration Assessment Tool) for content inventory, analysis, and migration

• Experience running and troubleshooting PowerShell migration scripts, including reruns and error handling for issues like permission resets, list view thresholds, and site locking


Customization & Compatibility

• Ability to assess and refactor custom-developed solutions, including:

o SharePoint Designer workflows

o InfoPath forms

o Custom CSS, master pages, and page layouts

o Third-party web parts and Bonzai-specific components

• Knowledge of modern alternatives to Bonzai features in SharePoint Online

PnP Search & SPFx Development

• Hands-on experience implementing PnP Modern Search solutions, including configuration of search verticals, result sources, and custom templates.

• Proficiency in deploying open-source SPFx web parts, especially those used for search, navigation, and content aggregation.

• Understanding of React, TypeScript, and PnPjs libraries for extending SharePoint Online functionality.


Experience & Project Background


• Intranet Modernization Projects

o Prior involvement in enterprise-scale intranet modernization or cloud transformation initiatives, ideally within healthcare or public sector environments.

o Familiarity with decommissioning legacy infrastructure and aligning with digital health strategies.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration

o Experience working with project managers, business analysts, and communications teams to ensure alignment on content strategy, governance, and user experience.

o Ability to support stakeholder engagement, including training, documentation, and change management.

• Security, Compliance & Governance

o Understanding of M365 compliance features, including data loss prevention, retention policies, and secure sharing.

o Familiarity with information architecture best practices to avoid communication silos and ensure content discoverability
