Role description:
Our Arcadis Calgary office is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Contract Administrator to join our government & civic team. The successful candidate shall have a demonstrated and proven track record in contract administration for government, civic, and multi-use facilities, and will be directly responsible for all architectural functions on the project site. The position involves overseeing projects and project teams including management of intermediate to junior level staff to complete deliverables.

The salary range for this position is $$RANGE$$. The base salary represents Arcadis’ hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.

Our Arcadis Calgary office is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Contract Administrator to join our government & civic team. The successful candidate shall have a demonstrated and proven track record in contract administration for government, civic, and multi-use facilities, and will be directly responsible for all architectural functions on the project site. The position involves overseeing projects and project teams including management of intermediate to junior level staff to complete deliverables.
Role accountabilities:
- Oversee and manage the contract administration process for government, civic, and multi-use projects while acting as the primary on-site point of contact between clients/owners, contractors, and project managers.
- Maintain responsibility of contract administration deliverables and ensure that they are delivered in a prompt and accurate manner, meeting client expectations.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as legal and regulatory requirements.
- Review and interpret construction documents while conducting site reviews to ascertain project adherence to contract documents and local building codes.
- Responsible for preparation of contract administration documents including site review reports, deficiency reports, site instructions, and change orders.
- Responsible for working with the project team to manage field changes, negotiate various contractual matters and to find resolution to construction issues throughout construction.
- Process, review and answer Request for Information and submittals.
- Coordinate revisions to the contract documents, make recommendations, and consult client / owner on all issues related to the project.
- Assist the Architectural team with constructability reviews as required for project designs, as well as scope changes during construction.
- Monitor, review, and process closeout submittals and perform periodic QA/QC construction site visits, including substantial presence at the construction site.
- Post graduate education in Architecture or Architectural Technology.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in contract administration for government & civic projects.
- Strong knowledge of Alberta Building Codes is preferrable.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to establish effective working relationships in a team environment.
- Demonstrated experience in a variety of project types and project delivery methods.
- Proven technical understanding of building science, construction contracts and constructability considerations.
- Good Knowledge of construction best practices, including equipment, materials, and quality assurance techniques.
- Self-motivated individual capable of assuming increasing responsibility for both current and future projects.
- Ability to work from home, from office, or remotely on project sites that require on-site presence of Contract Administrator during construction.
- Ability to travel within Alberta, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan for projects.
