What You Will Be Doing

Reporting to the Director of Cards but working very closely with the VP of Lending Solutions, the Senior Manager, Credit Cards & Unsecured Lending Forecasting & Portfolio Management will be accountable for Credit Cards & Unsecured Lending pricing optimization, forecasting, reporting & deep dive analytics. The Senior Manager will be responsible for delivering key P&L measurements of Tangerine’s credit cards & unsecured lending portfolios and help in the ideation & development of the key business initiatives. The successful incumbent will support the development and implementation of credit cards & unsecured lending strategies on portfolio growth and engagement, pricing, and client segmentation. The role also supports the evolution of credit cards & unsecured lending product and journey innovation, in addressing changing client needs and existing pain points, to bring-to-life client-centric value propositions.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Drives the focus on Portfolio Optimization & Pricing Analytics for the Tangerine Credit Cards & Unsecured Lending portfolio in close collaboration with cross-functional teams to develop business decision modelling and strategic roadmaps for customer acquisition, growth, engagement and retention.
  • Leads and develops business cases with market sizing, scenario analyses, as well as strong partner-relationships in support of gaining organizational buy-in and the necessary resources to design and assess product development or innovations.
  • Working closely with the VP, Lending to conduct portfolio deep-dives, product economics, and profitability valuation for Credit Cards & Unsecured Lending, leveraging a variety of statistical techniques to drive strategic problem-solving and long-term recommendations for business growth, highlighting risks, opportunities to support action plans.
  • Design and upgrade approach to unsecured lending forecasting, across credit cards, unsecured lines & loans, taking into consideration macro-economic variables and competitive dynamics.
  • Create forums and processes to review forecast outputs and ensure cross-collaboration to improve visibility and enrich Team understanding of levers.

Skills

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • BA requirement, MBA an asset
  • CFA an asset
  • 5-8 years in a product role with strong understanding of P&L drivers and financial reporting
  • Experience with advanced analytics tools (R, SAS, SQL etc.) along with MS Excel and access–including excel regression functions, VBA; experience with GCP/ Big query is a plus
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills; excellent communicative ability to frame results of analyses
  • Ability to thrive in an ultra-fast paced environment; adaptable and flexible when responding to deadlines
  • Ability to synthesis complex information clearly and simply to a broad audience- excellent communication skills (verbal & written)
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking capacity Experience winning business case approval and following through to successful implementation
  • Thorough understanding of unsecured products, key success factors and the regulatory environment surrounding them
