About the role
At Intact our employee promise is to invest in people, so they can grow with us. We are currently looking for at Team Lead - Actuarial to join our Specialty Lines Actuarial team.
This role is positioned under our current Actuarial Manager. It will be a great opportunity to get meaningful management experience while staying close to technical/hands-on projects.
What you’ll do here:
Manage the evaluation, development and coaching of members of their group to achieve the strategic objectives of the company.
Lead, coach and manage the evaluation & development of a group of actuarial analysts to achieve the strategic objectives of the company.
Formulate appropriate recommendations after analyzing and interpreting reports produced by actuarial analysts to improve the performance of products and services.
Drive improvements in the performance of products, services and processes by interpreting actuarial findings and formulating appropriate recommendations.
Provide technical advice to the members of their group responsible for actuarial work and studies (product rating, reserves, financial projections, contribution to regulatory requirements, etc.).
Provide technical guidance and strategic direction for the pricing of diverse specialty lines products
Coordinate their team’s activities by organizing, planning, and controlling the work.
Plan, organize and monitor team’s workflow to meet work goals and priorities efficiently.
Develop, refine, and implement robust pricing models and methodologies, leveraging advanced actuarial techniques and data analytics.
Represent the actuarial function in various working groups/committees and act as a point of contact with other business units.

Participate on project-based tasks as assigned by Manager and/or Director.
What you bring to the table:
University degree or any combination of equivalent education and experience.
Job-specific designation: Mathematics, Actuarial Science, FCAS an asset.
Minimum of 5 years including 1 year of coaching (major asset).
Strong skills and knowledge of actuarial techniques.
Coaching and development of others, foster engagement.
