Located on the shared, traditional, and unceded territories of Katzie First Nation and Kwantlen First Nation, the Maple Ridge - Pitt Meadows School District (SD42) provides quality education to over 17,000 students. SD42 is looking for a qualified Carpenter to perform a variety of carpentry and locksmith tasks to ensure the safety and full use of buildings and facilities. The Carpenter maintains and repairs building structure and system such as doors and frames, floor systems, staircases, door hardware, wall, ceiling, millwork and roof components. The position lays out, reads and interprets plans, drawings and specifications of district buildings and facilities in accordance with by-laws and codes.

Rate of pay: $40.76 per hour

The Applicant Will Possess
- Interprovincial Trades Qualification (TQ) Certificate in Carpentry plus two (2) years experience in a maintenance environment after completion of the TQ.
- Sufficient physical strength, health and coordination to perform the duties and responsibilities of the job.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and harmoniously with staff, students, parents, contractors and outside agencies.
- The ability to work at the level of independence and with the degree of initiative appropriate to the position.
- A valid BC Driver’s License.
