Position Overview
The Senior Tax Specialist will be responsible for all aspects of domestic and international taxation, including but not limited to sales tax, income tax, transfer pricing, and payroll taxes. This position will report to the Financial Controller at Race Roster as well as leadership at ASICS Headquarters for all tax-related matters. This position requires flexibility as we respond to new business and customer requirements, while being able to quickly adapt to new strategies and priorities as they evolve.
Product Line
This role will be working with Race Roster, Runkeeper and Njuko products.
Work Location:
The successful candidate for this role can be either a remote employee (working 100% remotely from a designated location within Canada), a hybrid employee (flexibility to work in the office or from home at a location within 75 km from the London, ON office), or an in-office employee at our London, ON office.

Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Financial Controller for all aspects of sales/excise tax, income tax, payroll tax, etc.
- Preparation and filing of the following (not limited to):
- Annual Canadian, US, and UK income tax returns etc.
- Indirect tax compliance returns in Canada, USA, UK, EU, Australia etc.
- US 1099’s and other filings as required
- Quarterly GST/HST returns
- Coordination of annual Transfer Pricing updates with assistance from external firms
- Calculation and documentation of intercompany transfer pricing charges
- Coordination with the development team to ensure customer facing receipts are compliant with tax requirements in various countries
- Act as an advisory on International Taxation implications related to corporate development, with assistance from AHQ and external firms (as required)
- Ensuring tax compliance across the in-house platform
- Ensure internal controls surrounding Race Roster’s marketplace facilitator technology and integration with Avalara or other tax related softwares
- Appropriately identifying and assessing tax resource requirements; scaling department as necessary with input from Executive Team and Financial Controller
- Voluntary disclosure procedures, where necessary, with the assistance of external council
- Perform ad hoc analysis, research, and other assignments when required
- Eager to learn and develop a broad range of working knowledge in taxation/ finance
- Meaningfully participate in diversity and inclusion initiatives across the organization
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- 3+ years of experience working in a tax role
- Experience with domestic tax compliance, and US, and/or international tax compliance
- Experience with domestic and/or international tax research
- Self-starter, ability to meet tight deadlines, and tolerate change and ambiguity
- Excellent communication skills; ability to work in cross-functional teams
- Demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness in completing tasks, and attention to detail
- Comfortable in a high-tech work environment
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, and advanced Microsoft Excel skill set
- A CPA designation would be considered an asset
