Scrum Master

Apex Systems is a global IT services provider and our consulting practice has an opening for a Scrum Master . This person will act a liaison between the technical and business teams to ensure teams and project are running smoothly for a Top Five Bank.

Client: Big 5 Bank

Location: Toronto: Hybrid 1-2 days a week

Terms : 6 Month Contract: 37.5 hours/ week Strong possibility of extension based on project budget & candidate performance.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Responsibilities:

As a Scrum Master, youll advocate the Scrum values, principles and practices, model agile behaviors and mindset, and help bring a product vision to life in collaboration with the product owner and the team. Using your skills in helping the teams to better collaborate, resolve conflicts and to work towards continuous improvement and value delivery. You will act as a servant leader in your role as a Scrum Master.

Team:

Native IOS and android. Ebanking, working in Java. Those 3 squads make up our Agile teams. The candidates will be working in combination of different teams. Ability to develop and gain exposure to different technologies.

How Youll Succeed

  • Agile Champion
    • You are a Scrum Champion. You can facilitate scrum activities and guide teams through transformation towards continuously learning and improvement. You know the difference between being agile and doing agile and can help us bring about a cultural transformation.
    • Experience in using Agile techniques (User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, and Agile Games) and other approaches discussed in the Agile space (XP & Kanban,) and can help with introducing them to the right teams at the right time.
  • Collaboration
    • Work closely with teams and product owners to discover and implement Agile best practices.
    • Collaborate with Agile Coaches and change agents to help the organization transform and adopt a growth mindset.
  • Coaching & Facilitation
    • Leverage your expertise to coach, educate, and facilitate individuals and teams about agile and scrum methodologies.
    • Coach teams to implement agile practices and drive change.
    • Ensure your team is on track by coaching to achieve higher levels of scrum maturity.
Requirements:

  • 5+ years of Scrum Master experience
  • CSM certified
  • Experience with tracking red/yellow/green status on projects and deadlines, manage financials, provide management updates, build work/breakdown structure
  • Proactive in process improvements and setting new metric points for the team
  • Hands on experience in JIRA view and dashboard customization.
  • Digitization of Retail Banking experience
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • JIRA/Confluence

Nice to Have:

  • Preferably worked in the digital, mobile or the API development teams
  • Experience as a developer, QA BA
  • Leveraging Agile Metrics
    • Eazy Bi
    • Velocity
  • Kanban experience

Soft skills:

  • This team is looking for candidates who have a very go-getter attitude. The team wants candidates who are willing to go above and beyond facilitation to make these projects successful and put in extra work when needed.
